Suwanee, Ga. - On Monday, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference named its weekly football players of the week, with Hendrix's Joshua Gil earning the special teams honor after a career performance versus Huntingdon over the weekend.

Gil punted 6 times on Saturday for an average of 41.2 yards per punt with a long of 48 yards. He dropped two punts inside the 20 yard line, including his last one which was downed at the 1 yard line to pin the Hawks back deep in their own territory with just over two minutes remaining. Hendrix held Huntingdon to a three-and-out on the ensuing possession before running out the clock to secure their first win of the season.

Gil and the Warriors return home to host Millsaps this Saturday at Young-Wise Memorial Stadium.
