Conway, Ark. (Sept. 1st, 2025) - After a pair of exhibition matchups, the Warriors kicked off their 2025 season, first under David Castillo, with a home matchup against the Lyon College Scots. The two teams fought to a 1-1 draw in what was a fast paced and very physical match.
Hendrix registered 7 total shots, with 3 of them being on goal, while recording one save in goal. Marcelo Ramirez started in goal for the Warriors, with Kasey Lauderdale coming in late in the game.Â
Neither team threatened in the first period, with Hendrix out-shooting the Scots 3-1. Jack White tried to get on the board early for the Warriors, taking a shot at the 14:57 minute mark that would get saved. Edwin Arredondo would try to make his mark early with a shot at the 23:13 minute mark. The Warriors would attempt one more shot before the half, with a top right shot from Ayden Garaway.Â
Lyon would get the first shot out of the break, with Tripp Ortega missing left at the 74:54. The first points of the match came at the 79:33 mark, thanks to an impressive header by Lyon. The Warriors would look to strike the game-tying point, and would find it at the 86:47 mark thanks to a goal by Jensen Pechar.Â
The draw makes the Warriors 0-0-1, as they look to get the first win of the David Castillo era this weekend with a trip to Rhodes Friday night.Â
