WBB | Brady's Big Night Highlights Warriors' Win Over Dallas

Irving, Texas - Hendrix got back to winning ways on Thursday night with a 57-41 win over the University of Dallas at the Maher Center.

And even by Riley Brady's standards, it was an exceptional night. The junior notched her 12th double-double in 14 games with a 15-29 performance. Her 29 rebounds tied Jamie Tate's mark for second all-time in SCAC single-game history and were two shy of tying the SCAC record that she set three weeks ago against Ozarks. Brady's 20 defensive rebounds are not only a new career-high for her but also believed to be a new program record.

Brooklyn Rowe had a strong day from the field, shooting 6-of-11 and knocking down a couple triples to finish with 14 points. Brailey Forst was 3 boards way from posting her second consecutive double-double as she finished with 10 points. Bella Cates dished out 6 assists in the winning effort.

Hendrix led 14-7 after the first quarter in what was a slow start to the contest, and managed to hold Dallas to under 10 points for back-to-back quarters to go into halftime with a 27-15 lead. Hendrix continued to keep the game out of reach of Dallas in the second half and pushed the lead up to as many as 21 early in the fourth quarter on back-to-back triples from Rowe.

Remarkably, Hendrix's offensive numbers were not that impressive following another poor shooting performance against Austin College the night prior. The Warriors were only 27.3% from three-point range but shot 31.6% from the field while registering 22 points in the paint. Hendrix also lost the turnover battle 10-9 but benefitted from an even poorer shooting night by the hosts, who only connected on 4 of their 22 attempts from deep.

The win improves Hendrix to 9-7 and 5-3 in the SCAC. The Warriors will return to Texas next weekend for a pair of road contests versus McMurry and Schreiner. Tip-off for the McMurry game will be 7:30 PM on Friday, January 30 in Abilene.
