MBB | Warriors Bested by Ozarks in Return Fixture

Conway, Ark. - Hendrix was unable to ride the momentum of Friday night's comeback win over Ozarks as the Eagles returned the favor with an 83-61 win on Sunday afternoon at Grove Gymnasium.

Holden Plant finished with 16 points and 7 boards to lead the Warriors. Kyle Roach joined Plant in double-figures with 15 points.

Hendrix never led in the contest and found themselves overwhelmed by the visitors throughout the 40 minutes as the Eagles shot lights out both within the arc and beyond. Ozarks finished the day 50.0% from the field and 51.7% from distance, knocking down 15 of their 29 long-ball attempts. The Warriors, on the otherhand, were just 7-of-28 and struggled to gain a foothold in the game, despite ending with a +6 margin in the turnover battle. It was dismal afternoon at the charity stripe as well, as Hendrix could only convert on 12 of their 25 foul shots.

Another key area where the Warriors lost was the glass, as Ozarks out-rebounded them 43-30.

The Warriors initially trailed 16-2 early in the contest, but triples from Plant and Tyler Jackson helped cut the Eagles' lead to four as Hendrix went on a 12-2 scoring run midway through the first half. From there, the wheels fell off, and Ozarks capitalized on their 22-point halftime lead to keep their feet on the pedal and maintain that lead by the end of the contest.

Hendrix (1-10, 1-1 SCAC) sits middle of the SCAC Blue division after two conference games. They will now hit the road for their first conference road trip of the season as they head to Round Rock, Texas to take on Concordia Texas before wrapping up the trip in Seguin versus Texas Lutheran.
