CONWAY - Hendrix was put to the sword on Friday night as they dropped a 4-0 decision to Colorado College to open up league play in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Ryan Carroll,
J.J. Goodsky-Evans, and
Tripp Ortega all got good looks on goal on the night, but the Warriors were unable to capitalize on their few shots on goal as three second-half goals from the Tigers were enough to see earn the points in Conway.
The Tigers went ahead midway through the first half via Teddy Opler, who headed home from close range, and went into halftime with a 1-0 advantage.
Ortega had a chance to equalize early in the first half, but saw his first-time effort off a Goodsky-Evans drag back pass go just wide of the bar. Goodsky-Evans then got on the end of an
Aiden Turner cross just minutes later, but his header went just high of the cross bar.
After the two missed chances, Opler doubled Colorado College's advantage, and Arlo Sollinger's strike just four minutes later gave the Tigers a ton of cusion for the final thirty minutes of regulation. The match was put beyond doubt in the 70th minute as Grayson Capodanno made it 4-0.
Cam Joniec recorded five saves in his 90 minutes in goal.
The loss drops Hendrix to 1-5-1 (0-1 SCAC). They will remain home to host the Unviersity of Dallas for a 12:00 PM kickoff at Warrior Soccer Field.
