Volleyball Clinches SCAC Blue Division with Sweep Over Centenary

CONWAY - Hendrix clinched its second-consecutive SCAC Blue Division championship with a 3-0 victory on Saturday at Grove Gymnasium.

The Warriors hit 0.424 with 45 kills and 13 aces while holding Centenary to a -0.012 hitting percentage.

The Warriors opened the first set with six straight points on Reghan Frazzetta's serve, getting two service aces and a Riley Brady kill during the 6-0 start. The early separation held throughout the set, with Camryn Kennedy, Ana Bastos, Addison Rud and Brady adding kills as the Warriors closed out a 25-10 set win over Centenary.

The Warriors broke open the second set with a 13-point run from 8-5 to 21-5, including 12 straight service points with Mary Addisyn Stubbs serving. Bastos and Rachel Pearce supplied kills during that stretch, and Enaiya Thompson teamed with Pearce on a block to cap the run. Centenary answered with five straight points, but the Warriors closed the set 25-12 on a Thompson kill from Reghan Frazzetta.

The Warriors closed the third set by winning seven of the final eight rallies, turning an 18-8 set score into a 25-9 finish. Vivian Sharlow served the final four points, with Amelia Don adding two kills, Pearce putting down another and Sharlow ending the set with an ace.

Bastos finished with seven kills while hitting .429 and added 13 digs, one ace and one block assist. Kennedy also recorded seven kills, hitting .375 with one block assist. Frazzetta tallied 22 assists, two aces and two digs. Mary Addisyn Stubbs served four aces and collected eight digs. Her four aces took her to 125 career service aces, which tied her with alum Jill Sikes for the individual career record.

The win takes Hendrix to 9-1 in the SCAC. They will remain at Grove Gymnasium to host the University of the Ozarks on Friday evening for Senior Night and the regular season home finale.
