HOUSTON, Texas - Hendrix earned their first league win of the season on Sunday afternoon at SaberCat Stadium with a 2-0 victory over St. Thomas. The victory kept the Warriors in contention for a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament berth, but results elsewhere meant that Hendrix would narrowly miss out on a top-six finish.
The Warriors started the regular season finale brightly, with
Rosalie Allen breaking the deadlock inside of the opening three minutes. After the away side won a free kick midway into St. Thomas' half, the freshman sent in a out-swinging ball near the backpost that went untouched and creeped over the goalline after taking a touch off the woodwork.
Hannah Scarrow doubled Hendrix's advantage with five minutes remaining in the first half. Allen swung a corner into the six-yard box that found the head of
Sierra Dobson, who headed it directly off Scarrow's shoulder from point-blank range and past the Celts' keeper for Hendrix's second. Meanwhile,
Kennedy Lewis was forced into five saves in the opening frame to preserve Hendrix's two-goal lead going into halftime.
Lewis secured her second clean sheet in the league with four more saves in the second half, keeping St. Thomas off the board and ensuring that the Warriors would end the 2026 season in the win column.
Hendrix finishes the year 3-7-6 (1-2-5 SCAC) and in 7th in the final SCAC standings.
