WBB | Brown's Career-Night Carries Warriors in Quarterfinal Win Over McMurry

Conway, Ark. - Hendrix advanced to the semifinals of the 2026 SCAC Championships with a thrilling 84-68 win over McMurry on Friday evening at Grove Gymnasium.

Chloey-Rei Brown delivered a career-performance in the win, scoring a game-high 33 points to carry Hendrix offensively. The freshman caught fire in the second quarter as she continued to drive inside and score while also drawing fouls. Brown got to the line 11 times and knocked down all but one of her attempts and was 11-of-21 from the field.

Riley Brady turned in her 21st double-double of the year, scoring 16 points while hauling in 21 rebounds. The Warriors dominated McMurry on the glass, out-rebounding the WarHawks 50-36. Natalie Edmonson also finished in double-figures with 11 points and was an efficient 4-of-6 from the field.

After McMurry's Helana Chadwick opened the game with a two-point jumper, Hendrix responded with a 9-0 run and came out of the first media timeout leading 11-6. McMurry took the lead on a Chadwick three with the score at 13-11, but Brooklyn Rowe tied it up with a driving layup on the next possession, and Lyndi Bryan went one-for-two from the line to retake the lead. McMurry led after one quarter of play, but a mammoth second quarter, spurred by Brown gave Hendrix a 44-32 lead going into halftime. The lead got up to 14 late in the half but the WarHawks got a bucket back with less than ten seconds remaining to trim the lead to 12.

The Warriors got the lead up to as many as 18 in the third quarter. McMurry cut it to 12 with a 6-0 run to end the third quarter, and at one point got the lead back down to single-digits in the final quarter. With the deficit at 10 with 8:54 remaining, Brown nailed a triple and then after a defensive stop on the other end, scored another two on a fast-break layup. The WarHawks cut the lead back down to 10 midway through the final frame, but with 4:35 left, Brady drove inside, drew a double-team, and calm dished the ball to Brailey Forst, who laid it up for two for arguably the game's biggest bucket of the night up to that point to help curb the momentum swing.

Brooklyn Rowe's fast-break three with 3:21 left in regulation proved to be the back-breaker, putting Hendrix up by a lead of 18 that was too insurmountable in the end for McMurry.

With the win, Hendrix advances to tomorrow's semifinal versus the top-seeded Colorado College. Tip-off is set for 5:00 PM at Grove Gymnasium, with the winner advancing to Sunday's championship game.
