MEMPHIS - Hendrix dropped to 0-3 on the year with a 16-6 loss to Otterbein on Tuesday evening in Memphis.
The Cardinals struck first just over a minute into the contest and then doubled their lead a couple minutes later. Hendrix finally got on the board with two minutes left in the first quater when
Zachary Cox assisted
Nicholas Smith for the Warriors' opener. Otterbein took advantage of a man-up opportunity with a minute to go to take a 5-1 advantage into the second quarter.
Otterbein owned the second and third quarters, shutting Hendrix out completely over the second frame while adding five more goals. The Cardinals scored the first four goals of the second half before Joey Davis and
Austin Williams scored back-to-back goals midway through the third quarter to make it 13-3. Davis scored two more goals in the fourth, and
Matthew Parsons got on the board as well late in the final frame for the last goal of the game.
Kellen Harger got the start in goal teh made 13 saves on the night.
Hendrix will open its home account on Thursday evening as they host Spaling at Young-Wise Memorial Stadium for a 6:00 PM start.
