SEWANEE, Tenn. - Hendrix opened up league play in the Southern Athletic Association with a 22-4 loss to the Sewanee Tigers on Sunday afternoon.
The Tigers netted the opening three goals of the afternoon before Joey Davis put Hendrix on the board midway through the first quarter.
Ethan Miller closed the first quarter with an unassisted effort to send the Warriors into the second period trailing 6-2. Sewanee shut out Hendrix 5-0 in the second to take an 11-2 lead into halftime.
The Tigers scored the opening four goals of the second half until Davis scored his second goal of the afternoon to put a stop to the run.
Matthew Parsons got on the board midway through the fourth quarter with an unassisted goal.
Cooper Littleton made 12 saves over his appearance in the cage. Kellen Harger entered in relief of Littleton in the fourth quarter and made six saves.
Hendrix (1-5) will remain on the road during spring break as they head to Georgia for a non-conference contest with Piedmont on Thursday before resuming league play on Saturday against Oglethorpe.
