MTEN | Warriors Unsuccesful in Road Trip to Memphis

Memphis, Tenn (March 8th, 2026) – The Hendrix Warriors made the short trip to Memphis to take on North Carolina Wesleyan, Rhodes & DePauw. The Warriors came up short in all three matches, falling to 5-4 on the season.
 
North Carolina Wesleyan (L, 4-1):
Wesley McClure and James Thomson got it going early for the Warriors, winning the #1s doubles matchup 6-3. That would prove to be the lone doubles win as Lucas Junkerman and Cason Cole fell short in the #2 doubles match 1-6 and Maximilian Henderson and Robinson Wright falling in the #3 doubles match 3-6.

Wesley McClure would secure the lone singles win, winning in the #1 singles matchup in a three-set tiebreaker (6-4, 5-7, 1-0). The rest of the Warriors would fall short or not finished, giving the Bishops the 4-2 victory.
 
Rhodes (L, 5-2):
After dropping the previous match, the Warriors looked to get back to their winning ways in their match against Rhodes. Jesse Koeleman and Cason Cole picked up the lone win in the doubles matchup, winning the #2 doubles 6-1.

Wesley McClure won the #1 singles match 6-2, 6-2. Santiago Perez would pick up the #4 singles win in a three-set tiebreaker (0-6, 6-3, 1-0). The Warriors would fall short in their matchup versus Rhodes 5-2.

DePauw (L, 0-7):
Hendrix concluded its road trip with a final matchup against DePauw. Wesley McClure and James Thomson would pick up the #1 doubles match 6-2. Cason Cole and Jesse Koeleman would go down 2-6 in the #2 doubles match, and Maximilian Henderson and Robinson Wright would fall short in their match 6-7.

The Warriors would fail to get on the board as DePauw swept the singles matchups. McClure fell behind early 0-6, before having to retire in the second set. Thomson would fall 3-6, 3-6 in the #2 spot. Koeleman would go down 1-6, 2-6 in the #3 singles match. Jaako Keulen would fall 3-6, 3-6. Robinson Wright would lose 1-6, 3-6. Cason Cole would close out the #6 spot, falling 0-6, 1-6.
 
The Warriors are on the road back in SCAC play this weekend, taking on Schreiner Univerisity March 13th & McMurry March 14th.
