BSB | Baseball Swept by LeTourneau in Longview

LONGVIEW, Texas - Hendrix suffered a major setback in their race to finish top six in the SCAC with a three-game sweep at the hands of LeTourneau on Thursday and Friday at Conrad-Vernon Field.

Game 1 (L, 8-0)
Hendrix was shutout in the series opener as LeTourneau's pitching staff limited the Warriors to just three hits over nine innings, while their pitching allowed seven hits and six runs.

The Warriors saw Zane Nolan walk and advance to third on a wild pitch to lead off the first, but the visitors were unable to bring him home, ending their half  of the inning scoreless. LeTourneau capitalized on a fielding error, with Zach Baker scoring unearned and two more runs coming in to put the hosts up 3-0 after the first inning.

In the second inning, Ryne Dodson singled, but a double play and a strikeout ended the Warriors' opportunity. LeTourneau increased its lead to 4-0 as Jake Morris scored on a single by Zach Baker.

By the fifth inning, LeTourneau extended its advantage. Cody Brady's single set the stage for a two-run homer by Jack Kale, pushing the score to 6-0. The Warriors managed hits from Giancarlo Digiacomo and Zane Nolan in later innings but failed to convert these into runs.

Despite some solid pitching efforts from the bullpen, Hendrix could not overcome the deficit.

Kyle Taylor started on the mound for the Warriors, pitching 5.0 innings and allowing 6 hits and 6 runs, 3 of which were earned, while issuing 2 walks and hitting 3 batters. Caden Clark followed with a strong relief performance, not conceding any hits or runs over 1.1 innings and striking out one batter. JD Nichols faced control issues, hitting two batters without recording an out. Nate Hirsh and Caden Goad combined for 1.2 innings of scoreless relief, with Goad striking out two batters and allowing just one hit.

Game 2 (L, 8-5)
LeTourneau's decisive four-run fourth inning set the pace in Game 2, despite the Warriors' 12 hits and 4 extra-base hits in the contest.

Hendrix opened the scoring in the first inning when Giancarlo Digiacomo doubled down the left field line and later scored on Ryne Dodson's single up the middle. The Warriors took a 1–0 lead after the first inning.

In the fourth inning, Hendrix added two runs. Shaun Pope walked and scored on Nick Echaniz's double to left center. Echaniz then scored on a single by Mike Massa, giving the team a 3–0 lead. However, LeTourneau responded with four runs in their half, highlighted by Blake Vice's three-run homer, taking a 4–3 lead.

Hendrix tied the game in the fifth inning when Digiacomo doubled and scored on a sacrifice fly by Ryan Lang. LeTourneau, however, regained the lead with three runs, including RBI singles from Chris Savage and Seth Hudson, extending their advantage to 7–4 after five innings.

In the eighth inning, LeTourneau added another run with a solo home run by Jack Kale, making it 8–4. The Warriors managed to score once more in the ninth inning. Mike Massa walked and scored on Dodson's ground-rule double, but the game ended with LeTourneau securing an 8–5 victory.

Dylan Kalmus pitched 4.2 innings, allowing four hits and six earned runs while striking out six batters. He threw 82 pitches, with 43 of them being strikes, and gave up one home run. Chance Reed faced one batter, surrendering a hit and an earned run without recording an out. In the second inning, Hendrix extended its lead with a strong performance. Ree Ketcham and Nolan singled, followed by Nic Echaniz's RBI single. Aust Rabago then hit a two-RBI double, and Dodson capped the inning with a two-run homer to left field. The Warriors led 8–0 after their half of the second. LeTourneau responded with four runs in their half, including an RBI double by Luke Land and a wild pitch that allowed Zach Baker to score, closing the gap to 8–4.
