CONWAY - Hendrix opened its 2026 account with a 3-0 loss to Southwest Baptist on Tuesday night at Warrior Soccer Field. The Warriors were limited to just four shots, two of those on goal, while facing 16 shots as the Bearcats scored twice in the first half and once in the second period.
First Half
- The Bearcats generated early pressure with a corner kick and six shots in the opening 16 minutes, but
Kennedy Lewis made two saves to keep the match scoreless.
- SBU broke through at 16:14 on a Juana Fernandez Calvo goal assisted by Jade Johnson, then added an Elli Steel goal at 20:30 for a 2-0 lead.

Kaylee Fluger put the Warriors' first shot on goal at 21:07, but Cece Alexander saved it.
- The Warriors withstood more late pressure, including a team save at 33:45 and a corner in the final minute, as the Bearcats took the 2-0 lead into halftime.
Second Half
- With the Warriors trailing 2-0, SBU generated two corners and three shots from 48:25 to 58:10, but Lewis made two saves to keep the score unchanged.
- Emma Meier scored for the Bearcats at 62:44 to make it 3-0, and
Ava Puente put the Warriors' next shot on goal at 68:46.
- The Warriors added a late corner at 79:52, and Fluger took shots at 84:11 and 88:32 before SBU finished with a 3-0 win.
Lewis recorded five saves while playing all 90 minutes in goal. Fluger led the Warriors with three shots and put one attempt on goal.
The loss drops Hendrix to 0-1-0. They will remain home to host Belhaven this Saturday at Warrior Soccer Field. Kick-off is set for 11:30 AM.
