MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Hendrix volleyball swept their two matches on Saturday at the Rhodes Classic, dropping just one set across the two matches as they breezed through the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and Rhodes College.

Hendrix swept through Mary Hardin-Baylor to open the weekend, taking the sets 25-21, 25-23, 25-12. The Warriors went on a blistering 15-0 run in the third set to seal the match, when they hit .375 and held Mary Hardin-Baylor to a -.111 hitting percentage.
The Warriors stayed close early on kills by
Ana Bastos,
Emma Blancovich and
Riley Brady, but Mary Hardin-Baylor used aces from Natalie Hughes and Lilli Sandoval and kills from Ava Ribakovs, Allie Thompson and Addison Yates to build a 10-4 lead. After Mary Hardin-Baylor went ahead 11-5, the Warriors won seven of the next eight points, with
Faith Jones serving an ace, Bastos adding two kills and Brady combining with Bastos on a block to tie the set at 12-12. Blancovich's ace gave the Warriors a 13-12 lead, and the Warriors stayed in front with kills by Brady and
Alexis Mahan and aces from Brady and
Reghan Frazzetta to reach 20-16. Mary Hardin-Baylor pulled within 22-20 on kills by Hughes and Sandoval, but
Ava Burns answered with a kill, Sandoval's attack error moved the Warriors to 24-21, and Brady's kill from Blancovich closed the set 25-21.
After the Warriors stayed within 10-11 on a block by Bastos and Brady, Mary Hardin-Baylor scored the next five points to move ahead 16-10. The Warriors cut the gap behind two Mahan kills, Bastos ace, a Brady-Mahan block and a Brady kill, and later tied the set at 17-17 on a Burns kill. Brady served two aces around another Burns kill to put the Warriors in front 20-17, but Mary Hardin-Baylor took the next six points to go back ahead 23-20. The Warriors closed the set with five straight points, getting three consecutive
Camryn Kennedy kills to pull even at 23-23 before a Mary Hardin-Baylor attack error and an
Addison Rud kill finished a 25-23 set win.
Jones served the Warriors through a 15-0 start to the third set, a stretch that included her ace, kills from Rud, Kennedy, Brady and Frazzetta, and a Brady/Rud block. Mary Hardin-Baylor got on the board with a Natalie Hughes kill and added two more points before the Warriors moved back ahead 18-5 on consecutive Kennedy kills around a Mary Hardin-Baylor service ace. The home team later cut the margin to 22-12 with points that included a Baylee Mobley ace, an Ava Ribakovs kill and an Angie Garcia ace. Bastos answered with a kill and a service ace, and Kennedy finished the set with a kill from Frazzetta for a 25-12 Warriors win.
Brady totaled team highs of 15 points and five blocks, adding nine kills and three service aces. Kennedy led the Warriors with 12 kills while hitting .286. Jones recorded a team-high 20 digs and added five assists and two service aces. Frazzetta finished with 19 assists, 12 digs and one service ace.
Rhodes (W, 3-1)
The Warriors responded after their first set loss of the weekend by wrapping up their match with Rhodes in four sets, hitting .283 with 51 kills while holding Rhodes to a .152 hitting percentage and 42 kills.
Ava Burns had two early kills as the Warriors moved in front, and
Faith Jones served an ace during a run that turned a 3-2 edge into a 9-2 lead behind three
Camryn Kennedy kills and a block by
Riley Brady and Kennedy. Rhodes cut it to 9-5 on kills by Chloe Dunnigan and Caroline Short, but Brady answered with a kill and the Warriors added five more points on
Emma Blancovich's serve to push the lead to 15-5. The Warriors kept extending the set with Brady involved in consecutive blocks before
Alexis Mahan's kill made it 19-6.
Ana Bastos added three late kills, and the Warriors closed the opening set on back-to-back Rhodes attack errors for a 25-9 win.
After the teams traded points early in the second set, Rhodes moved from a 7-6 edge to a 15-6 lead with an eight-point run that included two Meg Gebhart service aces and kills by Chloe Dunnigan, Rachel Clarke and Gebhart. The Warriors answered with four straight points, getting a Kennedy kill, a Rhodes attack error and back-to-back Bastos kills to pull within 15-10. Bastos added two more kills and Burns followed with a kill during a later stretch that brought the Warriors within 18-15, but Rhodes pushed back ahead and reached set point at 24-17. After a Rhodes service error, Yzzi Dsamou finished the set with a kill to give Rhodes a 25-18 win.
The third set stayed tight through 12-12 before Rhodes scored four straight, including consecutive Caroline Short aces and a Hadley Wright kill, to move ahead 16-12.
Mariana Leite answered with a kill, and after Rhodes added a point for a 17-13 lead, Brady's kill started a five-point Warriors run that included three
Mary Addisyn Stubbs aces and a Bastos kill for an 18-17 lead. A Stubbs service error tied the set at 18-18, but Brady and Mahan put down kills and Burns added a block as the Warriors moved back in front 21-18. Rhodes got within 22-20 before Burns delivered the final three Warriors points on kills to close a 25-20 set win.
After Rhodes built a 9-5 lead, the Warriors pulled even at 10-10 behind two Bastos kills and Rhodes errors. Rhodes went back ahead 11-10, but the Warriors answered with four straight points, moving in front 14-11 on Bastos kill and a Burns block. The teams traded points to a 16-14 Warriors edge before Rhodes scored three in a row to lead 17-16, but
Addison Rud tied it with a kill and Blancovich served the Warriors into a 20-17 lead with an ace and two Rhodes attack errors. Brady's kill made it 23-20, and after Rhodes cut the margin to 24-23, Rud finished the set 25-23 with a kill from
Reghan Frazzetta.
Bastos led the Warriors with 16 kills and 17.5 points, hit .353 and added 13 digs. Jones recorded a team-high 17 digs, four assists and one ace. Burns finished with 11 kills on 15 attacks, hit .667 and added two solo blocks. Blancovich led the Warriors with 19 assists and added two aces and five digs.
Up next, the Warriors travel to Marshall, Texas, to take part in the East Texas Baptist Invitational, where they will take on Southwestern (Texas), Christopher Newport, McMurry, and ETBU.
