CONWAY - Hendrix lost to a 7-2 decision to Williams Baptist on Wednesday evening at Warrior Soccer Field. The Warriors generated nine of their 12 shots after halftime but faced 23 Williams Baptist shots, including 15 on goal.
Chloe Peters netted her first collegiate goal on the night for Hendrix's opener with a belter from 25+ yards out. The freshman then found herself at the double in the second half with a wonderful right-footed finish back across goal.
B Adams recorded nine saves in 90 minutes, with six saves in the first half and three in the second.
The Warriors' first-half response came at 35:41, when Peters scored to cut Williams Baptist's advantage to 3-1 after the visitors had scored three times. Earlier, Adams helped keep the Warriors within 1-0 during a Williams Baptist push, making three saves during a nine minute stretch midway through the half. The Warriors followed Peters' goal with three corner kicks in the final ten minutes but were unable to grab a second goal from the set piece opportunities.
Peters gave the Warriors their second-half breakthrough midway through the second half, scoring to cut Williams Baptist's lead to 4-2. Williams Baptist answered with three more goals after Peters' strike.
The loss leaves the Warriors at 0-4-1 overall.
Up next, the Warriors travel to St. Louis, Missouri, to face Webster University on Friday. Kick-off is set for 10:00 AM.
