ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Hendrix lost to Webster 1-0 on Friday afternoon to fall to 0-5-1 on the year. The Warriors outshot Webster 13-10 and put six shots on goal, but it was the hosts who eventually found the winner in the second half.
Kennedy Lewis recorded six saves in 90 minutes, making three in each half.
Evi Kolman finished with three shots and put two on goal.
Grace Sandoval matched Kolman with three shots and added one shot on frame.
The Warriors' most sustained first-half push came late, when
Chloe Peters,
Sierra Dobson and Sandoval each put shots on frame between 32:52 and 43:22, but Webster kept each out. Earlier, Lewis made three saves as Webster generated chances through the middle of the half, and the teams went to halftime scoreless.
Webster scored at 59:46 on Malaya Blakely's goal assisted by Riley Cappozzo, leaving the Warriors chasing the match in the second half. The Warriors pressed for an answer with
Reese Roleson hitting the top woodwork at 69:52 and added second-half shots from
Piper Clements and
Nina Smith. Lewis made three saves in the half to keep Hendrix in the match, but the Warriors were unable to find the equalizer.
