Marvin Prestridge

Marvin Prestridge joined the Hendrix College baseball as the pitching coach in October of 2012.

In 2015, Prestridge's staff broke the program record for earned run average for the third consecutive year. The Warriors also set new records for fewest runs and earned runs allowed.

In his first year, Prestridge's staff broke the program record in earned run average, walks per nine innings and shutouts. In 2014, the Warrior staff set a school record for wins, ERA and opponent batting average.

In his three seasons, Prestridge has coached one All-Southern Athletic Association first team selection, one second teamer and four second team picks.

Prestridge was a three-time All-American Southwestern Conference hurler for the University of Texas at Dallas. During his senior season, he tied the Comets' record with nine wins in a season and was named the ASC Pitcher of the Year.

Prestridge went 20-6 during his career, tying the UTD wins record. He was named the 2011 ASC Tournament First Round Most Outstanding Player and was a two-time conference Pitcher of the Week.

Prestridge started his playing career at Howard College in Big Spring, Texas. There he helped Howard to the 2009 NJCAA National Championship, going 63-1 and winning a national record 57 consecutive games.

He graduated from UTD with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology in 2012 and an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice from Howard in 2009. Prestridge was a two-time ASC All-Academic selection for the Comets and was placed on the President's Honor Roll in 2009 at Howard.
