Noah Simmons returns to the Hendrix Warriors coaching staff in 2023 to assist with the defensive line. He initially joined the Hendrix College staff as the Athletic Fields & Turf Manager.
In 2015, Simmons was the football team's running backs coach and he helped lead the Warriors to a Southern Athletic Association championship with an 8-3 overall record and a trip to the NCAA Division III Playoffs. He also coached SAA Offensive Player of the Year, AP Little All-America and AFCA Coaches All-American running back Dayton Winn.
Prior to joining the staff, Simmons served as the cornerbacks coach at Lyon College from 2014-15. Before working with the Scots, he worked for the Department of Interior – Bureau of Land Management in Merlin, Ore. where he worked compliance for the wild and scenic section of the Rogue River that has up to class IV rapids.
Simmons owned and operated a small business in Central Arkansas for 18 years that provided landscaping and lawn care maintenance to residential and commercial contracts. In spring of 2013, he made the decision to sell the business to focus on moving forward in a career change in coaching and sports administration.
Simmons gained his coaching knowledge and experience at the University of Central Arkansas from 2010-13 defensive backs and the defensive line. During his time with the Bears, Simmons helped UCA to the NCAA Football Championship Subdivison Playoffs in 2011 and 2012. UCA also won the Southland Conference championship in 2012.
Simmons also assisted with multiple fundraising programs for the football program and UCA. He interned under Athletic Director Dr. Brad Teague during the 2011 and 2012 seasons while working on his graduate degree. Simmons also assisted in sponsorships, game day operations for men and women’s basketball, NCAA compliance meetings, bid proposals, and attended activities meetings related to university athletic programs.
Simmons spent time working on staff with the Arkansas Travelers as the Assistant Director of Operations – Turf Manager.
Simmons served in the United States Marine Corps during the Gulf War. In May 2009, Simmons went back to school, transferring to the American Military University in Charles Town, W. Va. where he received his undergraduate degree in Sports and Health Science with a 3.4 GPA in May 2011.
Simmons earned his Master of Science in Sports Management from the American Military University in 2012 with a 3.92 GPA and was recognized as a Honors Graduate by the Dean of Students and University President.
He is a Conway native and graduated from Conway High School.
Simmons and his wife Jennifer have been married 22 years and have six children (hers, his, & theirs) Zachary, Spencer, Nicholas, Kassidy, Ryan, and Camryn, along with five grandchildren, and reside in Vilonia, Ark.
