Reed Heim joined the Warriors' coaching staff as defensive coordinator in January 2013.

Heim also works with several of the Warriors' athletic programs as a strength & conditioning coach.

In 2016, the Warriors garnered their first national ranking, making it as high as #22 in the D3football.com Top 25 Poll. Hendrix went 7-3 and and ranked 41st in the nation in tackles for loss.

In 2015, Heim helped lead the Warriors to a Southern Athletic Association championship with an 8-3 overall record and a trip to the NCAA Division III Playoffs.

In 2014, the Warriors improved to a 6-4 record in just their second year since bringing back the program. In 2013, Hendrix' first year of football since 1960, the Warriors went 3-7.

In four seasons, Heim has coached four All-SAA First Team selections, one Second Team pick and six Honorable Mentions.

Heim came to Hendrix from Jesuit College Prep in Dallas where he was the linebackers coach and special teams coordinator and served as the Assistant Director of Athletic Performance.

A former three-time all-conference linebacker at Austin College in Sherman, Texas, Heim has twelve seasons of coaching experience.

Following his graduation from Austin in 2000 with a degree in Business Administration, Heim coached one season at his alma mater in 2001, working with the inside linebackers and serving as the team's strength coach during the off-season.

Heim coached one season at Louisiana College in Pineville, La., before joining the coaching staff at Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Va. He spent four seasons (2003-06) at VMI, where he coached the defensive ends and linebackers. He also served three seasons as video coordinator and one season as recruiting coordinator.

He spent the 2007 season as the offensive graduate assistant at SMU, where he assisted in coaching the tight ends.

Heim was the defensive graduate assistant at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. From 2008-10, he worked with the linebackers and safeties. Baylor broke a 16-year bowl absence during his final season as a graduate assistant. While at Baylor, he earned a Master's degree in Education (Sports Administration).

Heim is also certified as a strength and conditioning coach through the NSCA.
