Robert Henderson joined the Hendrix football staff as an outside linebackers coach for the 2016 season.

In 2016, the Warriors garnered their first national ranking, making it as high as #22 in the D3football.com Top 25 Poll. Hendrix went 7-3 and and ranked 41st in the nation in tackles for loss.

Henderson coached an All-Southern Athletic Association Honorable Mention in 2016.

Henderson comes to Hendrix after serving the last year and a half as the head wrestling coach and assistant football coach at Gentry High School in Northwest Arkansas. While at Gentry, Henderson coached a secondary that had six interceptions and four forced fumbles. He also coached eight state medalists and four all-state selections in wrestling.

Henderson began his playing career as a wide receiver at the Naval Academy Preparatory School in Newport, R.I. where he started seven games. After graduating from NAPS, he attended the United States Naval Academy where he played rugby for the nationally ranked Midshipmen. After one season at USNA, he transferred to the University of Arkansas where he continued his playing career. As a rugby player Arkansas, Henderson was named captain and led his team to a 15-0-1 conference record over two years with back-to-back conference championships and national semifinal appearances.

Henderson earned his Bachelors of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Arkansas in 2016. He lives in Conway with his wife Katie.
