Former Hendrix College standout Ian Evans begins his second year as an assistant for both the men's and women's soccer programs, under his former coach Doug Mello and his father Jim Evans, respectively.

During his first season, Evans helped the Warrior men to a program-record 10 wins and a school record eight shutouts. Among both teams, he coached eight all-conference selections and all-region player.

Evans was a three-time All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Third Team selection as a defender for the Warriors. He was a four-year starter, playing in 68 games and scoring four goals with five assists. During his career, Evans contributed to seven shutouts and was named SCAC Defensive Player of the Week as a sophomore.

A native of Simsbury, Conn., Evans was a two-year varsity letterwinner for Simsbury High School. As senior, he helped SHS go 20-1 and win a CIAC State Championship. Evans also earned All-State and Central Connecticut All-Conference honors.

Evans graduated from Hendrix in 2012 with a degree in History and a minor in International Relations.
