NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Hendrix College sophomore Elizabeth Krug topped her own school record in the 100 meter hurdles at the North Central College Dr. Keeler Invitational on Friday. The Heber Springs, Ark. native bested her previous record by .09 seconds, placing 15th in 15.68 seconds.
Krug also took 15th in the 200 meters in 25.88 seconds and 19th in the high jump by clearing 1.48 meters (4 ft-10.25 in.). She also ran a season-best 2:23.73 in the 800 meters, finishing 41st.
At the Emporia State Sam Williams Twilight Qualifer in Kansas on Saturday, junior Carlton Leding placed fifth in the 100 meter finals in 11.43 seconds. He qualified with a season-best mark of 11.25 seconds. Leding also ran the fourth fastest program time in the 200 meters at 23.17 seconds, finishing seventh.
Also at ESU, freshman Tiatjah Johnson won her heat in the 200 meters with a fifth-place overall time of 26.27 seconds. She also finished sixth in the 100 meter dash in 12.84 seconds.
Junior David Spriewald will try to qualify for the NCAA Division III Nationals in the decathlon at the North Central Gregory Multievent on Tuesday and Wednesday.
