Memphis, Tenn. - In their final tuneup before the conference championships in a couple weeks, the Hendrix men's track and field program saw several program record broken on what was a beautiful Saturday afternoon at the Rhodes 7-Way Meet.
Westin Bruce went second overall in the men's 100m with a time of 10.90 to break the previous school record of 10.91 set by Michael Spainhour in 2017. Bruce also placed 5th in the men's 200m with a time of 22.23. He currently sits second in the SAA in the 100m and fourth in the 200m.
Owen Lien placed fifth overall in the 800m run with a time of 1.57.74 to break the 23-year old record set by Matt Sickbert in 2022.
Thomas Spradlin placed third overall in the men's 400m hurdles with a time of 1.00.73 which vaults him up to seventh overall in the SAA.
The 4x400m relay team comprised of Connor Bailey, William Humiston, Thomas Spradlin, and Owen Lien finished third overall with a time of 3.43.44.
On the field, Tristian Johnson placed fourth in the men's discus with a throw of 42.99.He finished third in the men's shot put with a throw of 14.02. He currently stands in the top five in the conference in both events.
The Warriors now have a week off to rest and gear up before heading to Sewanee in two weeks for the SAA Outdoor Conference Championships.
