MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Hendrix College volleyball team now stands in first place alone in the Southern Athletic Association after sweeping Berry College 27-25, 25-13, 25-22 at the Cage Centre Friday night.
With the win, the Warriors improve to 22-4 overall and 9-2 in SAA play. Birmingham-Southern is in second at 8-2, while Berry falls to 13-11 overall and into third place at 8-3.
The first set saw eight ties and four lead changes. The Warriors led 23-20 in the opener, but the Vikings rattled off four straight points, including back-to-back aces from Emily Stromberg to gain a 24-23 advantage. A kill from freshman
Lauren Petrisin tied the game, then the teams exchanged points to make it 25-25. Petrisin ended the set with back-to-back kills.
Hendrix cruised in the third set, hitting .370 with 12 kills, while Berry hit .000 with nine kills and nine errors. The final game saw 10 ties - including at 22-22. Freshman outside hitter

Sara Dyslin ended the match in the Warriors' favor at 25-22.
On the night, the Warriors hit .257 with 41 kills, one ace, 52 digs and 11 blocks. The Vikings hit .078 with 33 kills, five aces, 46 digs and five blocks.
Dyslin, the reigning SAA Offensive Player of the Week, continued her hot streak by hitting .474 with 13 kills and four blocks. Sophomore outside hitter

Anna Keappler led Berry with seven kills and 14 digs and Stromberg had seven kills and 10 digs. Lauren Schmitz recorded 23 assists.
Hendrix will travel to Atlanta on Saturday for a noon ET match with Oglethorpe University.
