BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Hendrix College men's soccer team ended their regular season on Saturday afternoon with a 1-0 loss to Southern Athletic Association rival Birmingham-Southern College. 

Nathan Myers made seven saves but couldn't stop a 67th minute penalty kick that proved to be the difference. Jonas Hiedrich made there saves to earn the clean sheet for the Panthers who earned their fifth conference win of the year.

The Warriors played evenly with the Panthers for the first 45 minutes, taking five shots to BSC's six in the first half. Alex Cummings had the Warriors' best chance in the first half, ripping a shot off of a Ryan Stanowski corner kick, but Hiedrich turned it away to keep the score even. Ryan Mason also had a shot on goal in the first half for Hendrix.

In the second frame, the Warriors were neck-and-neck with the Panthers until the 67th minute. Hendrix was whistled for a foul in their own box, resulting in BSC receiving a penalty kick. Bastian Jedliczka buried the 12-yard strike to put the Panthers ahead 1-0. Hendrix also received a red card on the play, giving them a one-man disadvantage the rest of the match.

Playing man-down soccer, the Warriors were unable to earn the equalizer over the final 23 minutes and fell to a 1-0 defeat.

The Warriors finish the regular season with a 3-14-1 record, but will host the SAA Tournament beginning on Friday, November 7. Hendrix will face the top seed in the quarterfinal round of the tournament, either Millsaps or Birmingham-Southern.
