MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Hendrix College women's basketball held an early second half lead, but ended up falling to #25 Rhodes College 74-60 in the Southern Athletic Association opener at Mallory-Hyde Gymnasium on Wednesday night.
The host Lynx (5-1, 1-0) led 32-21 with 3:57 left in the first half, but the Warriors (2-4, 0-1) fought back with a 12-4 run over the final minutes to cut the deficit to 36-33 at the break. Freshman center
Sara Dyslin came off the bench to net 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting and pull down seven boards to lead the Orange & Black comeback in the first period.
Hendrix opened the second half with a 10-2 burst, going up 43-38 with 16:05 to play. Rhodes answered with a 22-4 run over the next eight minutes to take control of the game with a 60-47 lead. The Lynx maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the contest.
The Warriors shot 50 percent (21-of-42) from the field, but managed just 27.3 percent (3-of-11) from three-point range and hit 75 percent (15-of-20) of their free throw attempts. The Lynx shot 38.7 percent (24-of-62) from the floor, 23.1 percent (3-of-13) from outside and 85.2 percent (23-of-27) at the line. Rhodes also held a 36-28 rebound advantage and won the turnover battle 13-21.
Dyslin ended the game with a season-best 18 points and 12 rebounds. Junior point guard

Five players scored in double-digits for Rhodes. Symone Daniles led the way with 18 points and had four steals. Blaire Smith came off the bench to score 14 points and Sarah Johnson recorded 13 points, seven assists, five rebounds and five steals. Bailey Kramer added 12 points and Dy'Nelle Todman scored 10.
Hendrix will take on Austin College in Sherman, Texas on Saturday night.
