CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's tennis team defeated Austin College 7-2 at the Hendrix Tennis Courts on Friday afternoon.
	
	With the win, the Warriors improve to 3-2 on the season, already passing last year's win total of two. The two losses for the Orange & Black this season have come to NCAA Division II opponents. The 'Roos fall to 0-4 on the year
	
	Hendrix won four of the five singles matches played, with freshman 
Pratheepa Ravikumar defeating Sophie McDonald 6-1, 6-4 at number. Junior 
Hannah Smashey defeated Kate Willis 6-1, 6-2 in number three singles and freshman 
Lauren Mahaney topped Aardra Venkatchalam 6-3, 6-4 in the fourth spot. Senior 
Saranya Prathibha downed Anamariia Khevali 6-3, 6-3 at number five singles.
	
	The Warriors picked up two points - one in singles and one doubles - by default.  Smashey and sophomore 
Madison Schallhorn defeated Cierra White and Willis 8-6 in second doubles. Austin eeked out a win in number one doubles when McDonald and Khevali defeated Ravikumar and Mahaney 9-7.
	
	Hendrix will open Southern Athletic Association play at home on Sunday morning when they host Rhodes College.
