CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's tennis team opened Southern Athletic Association play with a 7-2 loss to Rhodes College at the Hendrix Tennis Courts on Sunday morning. The Warriors (3-3, 0-1) took two singles matches off the Lynx (2-1, 1-0), who are ranked 11th in the South Atlantic Region.
Freshman
Pratheepa Ravikumar won the top singles match for Hendrix, defeating Amelia McIsaac 6-2, 7-6. Sophomore
Madison Schallhorn beat Elyse Smith 7-6, 7-5 in number four singles for the Warriors' other point. Senior
Saranya Prathibha lost to Kristal Skrmetta 6-2, 6-4 in the fifth flight and sophomore
Kaci Dickey fell to Anna Heinmeyer 6-3, 6-1 at the sixth spot.
Rhodes swept doubles, but won only 9-7 at the first and third positions.
Hendrix will play their first road match of the year at LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas on Saturday.
