CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's tennis team opened the spring season with a 9-0 loss to NCAA Division II foe Harding University at home on Thursday night.
The Lady Bisons (2-1) swept through doubles, with junior
Hannah Smashey and sophomore
Madison Schallhorn of the Warriors (1-1) losing 8-3 to Lauren Doversola and Kaleigh Wagner 8-3 at the second spot.
In number one singles, HU's Ali Rowden defeated freshman
Pratheepa Ravikumar 6-0, 6-2. Schallhorn fell to Piper Huey 6-0, 6-3 in the second flight and freshman
Lauren Mahaney lost to Benyapa Phumtip 6-2, 6-1 in number three. Doversola defeated Smashey 6-0, 6-2 in number four singles.
Hendrix will be off on Feb. 14 when they host John Brown University.
