IRVING, Texas - The Hendrix College women's lacrosse lost to the University of Dallas 12-9 on the road on Sunday.
The visiting Warriors (0-2) built up a 4-2 lead early in the first half. The Crusaders (1-0) scored the first two goals in the first 4:36, but Hendrix answered with four straight - with freshman midfielder

UD scored four straight before Wenzel made her third goal of the game with an assist from freshman attacker
McKenzie Stribling, giving the Crusaders a 6-5 lead at halftime. Wenzel tied the game after a pass from freshman
Raychl Reger just 21 seconds into the second period. UD regained the lead with two goals before Reger scored with 19:28 left. Wenzel scored on a free position shot after another Dallas goal with 14:35 to play. The Crusaders went up 12-8 with three more scores over the next six minutes before Davis added the final goal of the game with 6:00 remaining.
For the game, the Crusaders outshot the Warriors 30-25 overall and 20-18 on goal. Hendrix won 13-of-23 draw controls, but Dallas held a 31-29 ground ball edge. UD also won the turnover battle 18-24.
Wenzel paced Hendrix with four goals and an assist to go with two draw controls and two caused turnovers. Davis had three goals and an assist and came up with five draw controls. Reger had a goal, and an assist, four draw controls and three ground balls. Marks and freshman defender

Jessie Koster led Dallas with seven goals, nine ground balls, five draw controls and six caused turnovers. Mary Davem had a goal and two assist and Mary Hilker recorded two goals, seven ground balls and three caused turnovers. Christine Jablonsky recorded nine saves in goal.
Hendrix will open Southern Athletic Association play at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta on Friday.
