YellowJackets Defeat Warriors 7-2

LONGVIEW, Texas - The Hendrix College women's tennis team lost 7-2 to LeTourneau University on Saturday morning.

The Warriors (3-4) took one doubles point from the YellowJackets (3-3), with number one freshman team of Pratheepa Ravikumar and Lauren Mahaney topping Kayla Bonina and Sarah Case 8-6. At number two doubles, sophomores Madison Schallhorn and Kaci Dickey fell to Shelby May and Megan Rush 8-5. Amy Miley and Victoria Zhang defeated senior Caroline Kelley and freshman Elizabeth Phelps 8-2 in the final slot.

Junior Elisa Rivera gave Hendrix their only singles point with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Zhang in the sixth flight. Schallhorn lost in a tiebreaker to May 6-4, 1-6, 1-0 (10-4) at number two singles. Freshman Lauren Dickinson was defeated by Rush 6-3, 6-4 at the fifth spot.

Hendrix will be off until March 14 when they host Mary Hardin-Baylor.
