CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's lacrosse team lost 18-2 to Centre College in Southern Athletic Association play at Warrior Field on Saturday.

The visiting Colonels (10-1, 4-0) outshot the Warriors (4-7, 1-4 SAA) 35-14 and 26-13 on goal. Centre also had a 34-22 ground ball advantage and were 13-of-14 on clears, while Hendrix went 6-of-21. The Orange & Black also committed more fouls (21-13) and turnovers (24-19).

The Colonels jumped out to a 6-2 lead, then ended the first half with three more goals. They scored nine more in the second period.

Freshman midfielder Kate Davis had a goal and four draw controls and freshman midfielder Amibeth Marks also scored for Hendrix. Freshman Raychl Reger won five draws and junior Landri Wenzel came up with three draws and thre ground balls. Freshman defender Meghan Ayers caused a season-best four turnovers and picked up three ground balls.  Freshman keeper Rebecca Alexander had seven saves in 36 minutes and sophomore Dynica Greer had one save and four ground balls in 24 minutes.

Meg Hawthorne led Centre with four goals and an assist and Audrey Powers added five assists. Jacqueline Anderson recorded four goals, seven ground balls and four caused turnovers and Emily Madden scored four times with four draws. Keeper Allison Eisner regestered 11 saves.

Hendrix will return to action next Saturday when they host Birmingham-Southern College.
