BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Hendrix College women's tennis team lost 9-0 to Birmingham-Southern College in Southern Athletic Association action on Saturday.
The host Panthers (8-2, 2-0), who are ranked 15th in the South Region, swept through doubles against the Warriors (3-6, 0-2). In the first flight, freshmen
Pratheepa Ravikumar and
Lauren Mahaney fell to Moya Moore and Sara Cohen 8-3. In number two doubles, senior
Saranya Prathibha and junior
Hannah Smashey suffered an 8-6 defeat to Emily Holst and Mary Evelyn Carroll.
In number one singles, Moore topped Ravikumar 6-4, 6-1. In the fourth spot, Mahaney lost to Carroll 6-2, 6-2 and sophomore
Brenda Quintero lost to Terria Punturo 6-2, 6-0 in number five singles.
Hendrix will play SAA rival Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss. on Sunday.
