ATLANTA, Ga. - The Hendrix College women's tennis team lost their regular season finale 6-3 to Oglethorpe University in Southern Athletic Association competition on Sunday morning.
The Warriors end the regular season 3-10 overall and 0-7 in league play, while the Stormy Petrels improve to 6-13 and 1-5.
Hendrix picked up points in number four, five and six singles. Sophomore
Madison Schallhorn needed a tiebreaker to defeat Ingrid Wilcox 6-7 (8-10), 6-2, 10-8 in the fourth spot. Senior
Saranya Prathibha won fifth singles when Tricia Groover retired and sophomore
Brenda Quintero downed Emma Bernard 6-2, 6-1 in the sixth flight.
Jahuan Freeman-Clark defeated freshman
Pratheepa Ravikumar 6-1, 7-5 in number one singles.
In number two doubles, OU's Caffrey Francis and Marcail McGranahan defeated Prathibha and junior
Hannah Smashey 9-8 (7-4).
Hendrix will be off until the SAA Tournament in Murfreesboro, Tenn. beginning Apr. 25.
