CLARKSVILLE, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's tennis team moved to 2-0 on the season with a 9-0 sweep of the University of the Ozarks on the road Tuesday.
The Warriors took all three doubles matches with senior
Hannah Smashey and junior
Erika Castro defeating Megan Wallace and LeAnan White 8-2 at the second spot. The freshmen tandem of
Sarah Walker and
Alexa Kiss topped Andrea Munoz and Amy Wallace 8-1 in third doubles.
In singles, Smashey needed a third-set tiebreaker to defeate Wallace 6-2, 2-6, 1-0 (10-8) in the third flight. Walker didn't lose a game to Munzo in number four singles. Junior
Brenda Quintero also defeated Katelyn Woodard 6-0, 6-0 in the sixth spot.
Hendrix will finish the fall portion of the schedule at the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns Slam in Russellville on Friday and Saturday.
