CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College men's basketball team fell to Sewanee - The University of the South 62-59 in Southern Athletic Association action at Grove Gymnasium on Friday night.
The Warriors (6-10, 1-4) led 51-41 with 11:15 to play, but the Tigers (10-6, 4-1) ended the game with a 21-8 run, 19 of which were scored by sophomore guard Jorden Williams.
Hendrix led 58-51 with 4:30 to play, but Williams made three straight trifectas to give Sewanee a 60-58 advantage with 1:43 to left. Warrior senior forward
Luke Vance went 1-for-2 at the line with 33 seconds left, cutting the deficit to one. Williams went to the line and made the final two free throws of the game with 20 seconds to back up by three.
The Warriors had a pair of three-point looks in the final seconds but could not get the tying bucket to fall.
Hendrix Notes- The Warriors shot 54.2 percent (13-of-24) in the first half, but only hit 39 percent (9-of-23) in the second period. For the game, Hendrix shot 46. 8 percent (22-of-47).
- Vance recorded 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting to go with five rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Alec Conard scored 10 points and dished out a season-high four assists.

Gabe Gumm scored eight first half points and registered five assists.

John Ogle had two blocks and a career-best three steals off the bench.
Sewanee Notes- The Tigers shot 46.2 percent (24-of-52) from the field and went 8-of-14 from three-point range (57.1 percent).
- Sewanee outrebounded Hendrix 34-24.
- The Tiger bench scored 22 points.
- Williams, the SAA's leading scorer, recorded a career-high 27 points on 9-of-19 shooting and went 5-of-8 from three-point range.
- Brody Stone came off the bench to score 13 points and pull down eight boards.
- Sewanee remains tied in second place in the SAA with a 4-1 mark.
Up Next- Hendrix will host Centre College, who were receiving votes in the Top 25 poll, on Sunday at 2 p.m. The Colonels lost to Rhodes 74-67 on Friday.
