CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's basketball team has caught fire during an important stretch of the season, and stayed hot on Sunday afternoon defeating Southern Athletic Association rival Centre College 70-61 at Grove Gym.
The Warriors have won seven of their past eight games, including a four-game winning streak against SAA opponents. The conference win streak matches their longest in SAA play, tying last season's four-game winning streak against conference foes.
Sara Dyslin finished with career-bests in points (21) and rebounds (16) while recording her sixth double-double of the season.
Anna King added 12 points and 12 rebounds for her ninth double-double this year.
Kati Broberg scored a career-high 15 points, knocking down five triples while
Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler cashed in 19 points and a team-high six assists.
Centre's Alexis Guy led all scorers with 24 points on the day, and grabbed three steals for the Colonels while Michele Judy scored 13 points and grabbed eight points off the bench for the visitors.
Hendrix took a slim lead into the locker room at halftime, edging Centre 34-30 at the break. The Colonels took a 37-36 lead with 17:32 to go in the second half, but a pair of free throws from Krisel-Bigler put the Warriors ahead 38-37 with 17:12 remaining. The home team never trailed from that point on. The Orange and Black held the lead for the rest of the game with King scoring the dagger, an old-fashioned three-point play with 1:02 left in the game to put the Warriors ahead by seven. Kriesel-Bigler went 7-for-8 from the free throw line in the final minute of play to seal the Warriors' win.
Hendrix Notes- Hendrix has now won seven of their past eight games, dating back to Dec. 30.
- The Warriors improve to 4-2 in conference play with their fourth straight win against an SAA opponent. Through six conference games last season, Hendrix owned a 2-4 record in SAA play.
- 17 of the Warriors' 20 field goals (85%) came off an assist. The team averages an assists on 68.3% of their made field goals.
- The Orange and Black outrebounded their opponents for the fourth straight game. Over that stretch, Hendrix has outrebounded their opponents by 12.0 rebounds per game.

Centre Notes
- Alexis Guy scored 24 points, matching her season-high. She went 9-for-19 from the floor, her most made field goals of the season.
- Centre was held to just 38.3% shooting in the contest, their second-lowest shooting performance against a conference opponent this season.
- The Colonels' bench outscored the Warriors' bench 19-1, with 13 bench points coming from Michele Judy
Up NextHendrix will travel to Jackson, Miss. to take on SAA foe Millsaps College on Jan. 30 at 6 p.m. The two teams split a pair of meetings last season, with each team holding serve at home.
