ResultsMEMPHIS, Tenn. - In their final tune-up before the Southern Athletic Association Championships in two weeks, the Hendrix College swim teams battled conference rival Rhodes College in a duel. The host Lynx won the women's side 156-80 and the men's side 131-77.
Each of the Warrior teams recorded four first place finishes.
Hendrix will travel to the SAA Championships in Birmingham, Ala. starting Feb. 11.
Women's Highlights
- Senior
Sydney Haldeman won the 400 individual medley, tying her season-best time of 5:07.30. She also took second in the 100 backstroke with a season-best 1:05.18 and was fourth in the 200 yard back in 2:22.27.
- Senior
Taylor Keplin won the 500 yard freestyle in 6:01.94. She was also sixth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:18.03.
- Freshman
Sydney Lacey recorded a 1:08.30 mark in the 100 butterfly, winning the race. She was also fourth in the 200 butterfly at 2:34.08.
- The 200 freestyle relay team of
Madelyn Carlson,
Kate Henricks, Lacey and
Abby Schlenk was first in 1:58.40.
- Senior
Kaia Duke competed in the breaststroke and swam the 200 in 2:54.71, finishing third. She also was fourth in the 100 breaststroke in 1:23.08.
- Junior
Caroline Forbes took fourth in the 50 yard freestyle in 26.91 and fifth in the 100 free in 1:01.36.
- Sophomore
Christina Santner finishes fourth with a time of 21:18.59 in the 1,650 freestyle.
- Haldeman, Duke, Lacey and Forbes were fourth in the 200 medley relay in 2:05.69.
Men's Highlights
- Freshman
Will Matheson recorded a personal-best time of 23.61 in the 50 freestyle, placing first. He also took second in the 100 free in 51.87 and third in the 200 free in 1:54.34.
- Freshman
Brandon Cathey won the 100 butterfly in 57.82.
- Sophomore
Troy Koser had a season-best 4:42.10 in the 400 yard individual medley, placing first. He was second in the 200 butterfly in 2:10.60.
- The 200 freestyle relay team of
Austin Davis,
Nicolas Maynard,
Eric Mullins and
Chris Griffin won the race in 1:45.16.
- Griffin finished second at 1:09.04 in the 100 breaststroke and was third in the 200 breaststroke in 2:34.80.
- Mullins took second in the 100 backstroke in 1:04.61, a season-best.
- Maynard was third in the 200 back in 2:33.97.
- Koser, Griffin, Cathey and Matheson finished second in the 200 medley relay in 1:45.62.
