CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College men's soccer team finished the regular season on a high note by defeating Birmingham-Southern College 3-1 at Warrior Field.
Before the game, the Warriors honored their eight seniors -

Jerry Thomeczek,
John McGrath,
Levi Jabben,
Jacob Pierce,
Larry Bringard,
Vincent Sabourin and
Will Embry.
With the win the Warriors improve to 3-9-3 on the season and 2-4-1 in Southern Athletic Association play. Hendrix will most likely be the seventh seed in the SAA Tournament and play the opening round at #2 Millsaps in Jackson, Miss. next Saturday. The Panthers drop to 11-4-2 on the year and 3-3-1 in league play.
BSC scored 52 seconds into the game on a Cody Santos goal that was assisted by Spencer Nichols. Hendrix answered in the seventh minute on a Pierce goal. Three and a half minutes later, freshman
Daniel Sweeney gave the Warriors the lead on a pass from junior midfielder
Ryan Stanowski. Junior forward
Oscar Stjernquist gave the Orange & Black an insurance goal in the 75th minute when he knocked in his own rebound.
For the game, the Panthers outshot the Warriors 19-14, but both teams took eight shots on goal. BSC held a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Hendrix Notes- Pierce's goal was the fifth of the year and 18th of his career. He ranks fourth in school history in goals and points.
- Sweeney netted his second goal of the season, both of which have been game winners.

Birmingham-Southern Notes- Saturday was the final regular season game in the career of legendary head coach Preston Goldfarb, who is retiring at the end of the season. In his 33 years at the helm of the Panthers, Goldfarb has registered 363 wins.
- Santos' goal was his third of the season.
- Nichols led BSC with five shots. Dylan Rose took two on goal.
- Marvin Castellanos posted five saves.
