CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's soccer team rolled to a 6-0 win over Centenary College of Louisiana Sunday afternoon and tied the program record for victories.
The Warriors end the regular season 10-7-1 and tied the 10-wins mark set by the 2001 and 2009 squads.
Before the game, Hendrix honored their five seniors -
Sydney King,
Samantha Lallas,
Danielle Luther,
Rachel Zweig and
Michaela Seltzer.
Freshman defender
Amanda Hamilton scored the first goal of the game in the sixth minute off a corner kick scrum. Lallas sent a cross to King in the 12th minute, then Lallas assisted freshman
Evie Cannon's goal two minutes later to go up 3-0.
In the 26th minute Lallas scored on a breakaway with an assist from Hamilton. Lallas scored again in the 28th minute on a solo goal. 41 seconds later freshman
Mattie Crenshaw found the net on an
Ellen Martin pass to make the game 6-0.
For the game, the Warriors outshot the Ladies (2-14) 32-2 and 15-1 on goal. Hendrix had a 12-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Hendrix Notes- Hamilton recorded her first goal and assist of her career.
- King's goal was the third of the season 10th of her career.
- Lallas moves her career totals to 46 goals and 26 assists. She now has five career games with multiple assists.
- Martin's assist was also the first of her career.
- Crenshaw now has three goals on the season. Cannon has four.
- Sophomore
Jordan Rausch recorded one save en route to her seventh shutout of the season.
Centneary Notes- Madison Alexander took the Ladies' only shot on goal.
- Madeline Herr recorded six saves in 64 minutes. Erica Coker stopped two shots in 26 minutes.
Up NextHendrix will play the first round of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn. Saturday.
