CONWAY, Ark. - Sophomore midfielder
Lucy Moore score four times to guide the Hendrix College women's soccer team to a 5-1 Southern Athletic Association win over Millsaps College at Warrior Field Saturday afternoon.
Moore, from Little Rock, Ark., recorded goals in the 19th, 32nd, 56th and 66th minutes, bringing her tally to a league-leading 14 on the season.
The Warriors (7-3-1, 1-1) had a 2-0 lead at halftime with Moore's goals being assisted by freshmen
Evie Cannon and
Melissa Miller. The Majors (2-8-1, 0-2) made it 2-1 in the 52nd minute when Lindy Robichaux scored on a Molly Ambrose pass.
Moore added two more goals with the second assisted by junior midfielder
Vanessa Franco. Senior forward
Samantha Lallas added the final goal in the 69th minute with a pass from Miller.
Hendrix outshot Millsaps 12-8 overall and 10-2 on goal. The Orange & Black also had a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Hendrix Notes- Moore's four goals were tied for the second most in school history.
- Lallas' goal was her ninth on the year.
- The assists were the first two in Miller's career. Cannon now has three assists on the season.
- Franco recorded her first helper of the year as well.
Millsaps Notes- Robichaux took four shots, two on goal.
- Elise Davis recorded four saves in 72 minutes in goal.
