CONWAY, Ark. - Hendrix College senior guard
Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler scored her 1,000th career point in the Warriors' 75-66 season-opening win against the University of Dallas Sunday afternoon.
Kriesel-Bigler, from Austin, Texas, becomes the 15th player in program history to reach the milestone. Her 12 points puts her at exactly 1,000 for her career.
The Warriors found themselves down 17-13 to the Lady Crusaders (0-1) at the end of the first quarter, but Hendrix led 33-30 at the break. The Orange & Black shot 31 percent from the field, but was 14-of-16 at the free throw line in the first half. UD shot 37 percent and made four three-pointers and had six free throws.
The Lady Crusaders led 52-48 with 9:30 to play in the game, but Hendrix went on a 14-0 run over the next five minutes, eight of which came from junior forward
Anna King. Dallas would cut the deficit to 71-66 with 1:03 to play, but Kriesel-Bigler scored her milestone bucket and King hit a pair of free throws in the final minute to seal the game.
The Warriors were on fire in the second half, shooting 59.3 percent (16-of-27) in the second half. They made 10-of-14 attempts in the fourth quarter.
For the game, Hendrix shot 44.6 percent (25-of-66), were 1-of-12 from outside and were 24-of-31 (77.4 percent) from the free throw line. Dallas shot 37 percent (20-of-54) overall, 6-of-14 from three-point range and 20-of-24 (83.3 percent) from the stripe. The Lady Crusaders held a 38-33 advantage in rebounds, but Hendrix took advantage of 23 UD turnovers, scoring 25 points off of miscues. The Warriors' bench outscored the Lady Crusaders' 38-8.
Hendrix Notes- King scored a career-high 23 points on 7-of-8 shooting and went 9-of-13 at the line. She also grabbed four boards.
- Kriesel-Bigler dished out five assists to go with her 12 points.

Estrella Flores scored 13 points and recorded career-bests with seven rebounds and six steals.

Breann Forbes came off the bench to scored 10 points and pass out three assists.

Heather Prowse added a career-high seven points and five rebounds in her first career start.
Dallas Notes- Guard Holly Tonry led UD with 20 points, eight boards and four assists.
- Sammi Tso scored 14 points, nine from the free throw line.
- Lindsey Gendron added 12 points and six rebounds.
Up NextHendrix will open the SCAC-SAA Challenge in Shreveport, La. on Saturday against Austin College.
