SHREVEPORT, La. - The Hendrix College men's basketball team lost on the road to Centenary College of Louisiana 88-80 at the Gold Dome in the final game of the SCAC-SAA Challenge Sunday.
The Warriors (1-2) dominated early in the game, jumping out to a 32-17 lead with 5:47 left in the opening period. The Gents (2-2) ended the first half with a 15-7 run, allowing Hendrix to lead 39-32 at the break.
Centenary outscored the Orange & Black 56-41 in the second half, going 21-for-23 at the free throw line, while Hendrix was only 4-of-9.
For the game, the Warriors shot 43.3 percent (29-of-67) from the field and 12-of-31 from three-point range, but only went 10-for-15 at the stripe. The Gents were 28-of-32 from the free throw line, while shooting 45.8 percent (27-of-59) from the floor and 6-of-15 from outside. Centenary also had a 42-35 rebound advantage.

Hendrix Notes- Freshman point guard
Preston Smith scored a season-high 17 points with six assists. He went 4-for-6 in three-point attempts.

Drew Nikolovski scored 14 points with three assists.

Gearen Littlefield recorded career-highs with 12 points and nine rebounds.
- Senior guard
Jordan Barrett added 11 points, four assists and three steals.
- Graduate student forward
John Ogle had 10 points and nine boards.
- Junior
Aaron Steele chipped in eight points off the bench.
Centenary Notes- Travion Kirkendoll led the Gents with 27 points, including 12 at the free throw line. He also had seven rebounds.
- Kendall Demouchet scored 17 points with nine boards, foiur blocks and three steals.
- James Sapp added 16 points and 10 boards.
- Treylan Matthews scored 14 points and dished out six assists.
Up NextHendrix and Centenary will play again Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Conway.
