CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College men's basketball team lost to Centenary College of Louisiana 73-69 at Grove Gymnasium Tuesday night. The loss was the second in three days for the Warriors (1-3) to the Gents (3-2), with Centenary winning 88-80 in Shreveport, La. on Sunday.
The Gents got off to a hot start, shooting 48.4 percent in the first half, while the Warriors shot just 28.6 percent. Centenary led 37-28 at halftime.
The Gents would extend their lead to as much as 12 points early in the second period, but the Orange & Black fought their way back to pull within five with 11:41 left. Centenary led 57-46 at the 9:37 mark, but Hendrix went on a 8-1 run over the next few minutes to cut the deficit to four points with 6:57 to play.

Preston Smith cut the lead to 71-69 with 10.8 seconds left. Centenary's Brandon Campbell hit a pair of free throws which made the score 73-69 with 9.7 remaining. Smith's three-point attempt with five seconds left was short, and the Gents escaped with the victory.
For the game, Hendrix shot 38.2 percent (13-of-27) from the field 9-of-28 from three-point range and 18-of-24 at the line. Centenary shot 49 percent (24-of-49) overall, 5-of-14 from outside and 20-of-28 in free throw attempts.
Hendrix Notes- Senior guard
Jordan Barrett scored 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting before fouling out.
- Littlefield scored 11 points with a career-high 13 rebounds and four assists. It was the first double-double in the junior center's career.
- Junior guard
Travis Garrett scored 15 points and registered three steals. He made five three-pointers off the bench.
- Freshman forward
Bryce Batchelor netted nine points with four boards.
- Smith scored six points, all at the free throw line, to go with four assists and three steals.
Centenary Notes- Travion Kirkendool led all players with 27 points to go with six rebounds and three assists.
- James Sapp scored 14 points.
- Campbell finished with 13 points and three assists.
- Justin Cueto added 11 points.
- Donovan Williams recorded seven rebounds off the bench.
Up NextHendrix will be off until Sunday when they host the University of Texas at Dallas at 2 p.m.
