Hendrix Topped by Trinity

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Hendrix College men's basketball opened the Trinity Invitational with a 79-60 loss to host Trinity University Friday night.

The Warriors (1-8) scored the first four points of the game on baskets by freshman forward Bryce Batchelor, but the Tigers (1-6) went on a 25-0 run to take control of the game. TU led 40-22 at halftime.

For the game, Hendrix shot 29.1 percent (16-of-55) from the field, 6-of-29 from outside and 22-of-31 at the free throw line. Trinity shot 49.2 percent (29-of-59) overall, 9-of-19 from three-point territory and 12-of-21 at the stripe. The Tigers had a 44-32 rebound advantage.

Hendrix Notes
- Junior guard Travis Garrett led the Warriors with 12 points, to go with three assists and four rebounds. He has scored in double digits seven times this season.
- Junior center Gearen Littlefield had 10 points, eight of which came from the free throw line, and six boards.
- Forward John Ogle added nine points and five rebounds.
- Junior guard Aaron Steele came off the bench to scored eight points.
- Freshman center Chandler Notley added seven points off the bench.
- Junior guard Bryce Parker had five points, three assists and a pair of steals.

Trinity Notes
- Ben Beatie paced the Tigers with 16 points and six rebounds.
- Matt Jones had 10 points and six assists.
- Brian Blum came up with 10 points and A.J. Pulliam had nine points and five rebounds
