CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's basketball team defeated Rhodes College 76-63 in the first Southern Athletic Association contest of the season at Grove Gymnasium Wednesday night.
The Warriors (5-1, 1-0), led 15-13 at the end of the first quarter and outscored the Lynx (3-4, 0-1) 19-13 in the second to take a 34-26 lead at half. Hendrix led by as many as 17 early in the third quarter but Rhodes would get as close as 56-49 with 9:48 left in the game. Back-to-back buckets from junior forward

Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler allowed the Warriors to maintain a double-digit lead for the final eight minutes of the game.
Hendrix shot 49.1 percent (26-of-53) from the floor, 3-of-11 from three-point range and 21-of-30 from the free throw line. Rhodes shot 41.5 percent (22-of-53) from the field, 3-of-12 from outside and 16-of-21 from the stripe. The Warriors had a 37-29 advantage in rebounds.
Hendrix Notes- Kriesel-Bigler finished the game with 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting, to go with three assists and three steals. She scored 20 or more points three times this season.
- Sophomore center
Sara Dyslin recorded the 12th double-double of her career and first of the season with 19 points and 12 rebounds. She was 8-of-11 shooting.
- Sophomore forward
Heather Prowse had seven points and six boards.
- Senior guard
Estrella Flores tied her career high with five assists and registered four steals.
Rhodes Notes- Symone Daniels led the Lynx with 14 points and 10 boards.
- Catherine Eckert also had 14 points.
- Blaire Smith recorded six points and seven assists.
