CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's basketball team defeated Centenary College of Louisiana 67-56 at Grove Gymnasium Wednesday afternoon.
The Warriors (9-2) led 34-27 at halftime and 48-39 by the end of the third quarter. They opened the fourth quarter by scoring the first eight points, pushing their lead to 17 and held on to a double-digit lead over the Ladies (5-5) the rest of the game.
Hendrix shot 38.9 percent (21-of-54) from the field and 8-of-21 from three-point territory. They were also 17-of-31 at the free throw line. Centenary shot 32.7 percent (16-of-49) overall, 1-of-11 from outside and 23-of-37 at the line. The Ladies held a 41-40 advantage in rebounds.
Junior guard
Hailey Bode came off the bench to score a career-high 20 points and four steals. She went 6-of-7 from three-point range, tying the school record for best three-point percentage set in a game (85.7) set by Tori Huggins against Millsaps in 2007.
Hendrix Notes- The Warriors 9-2 start is the best since the 2009-10 squad did the same.
- Hendrix sweeps the season series with Centenary. The Warriors defeated the Ladies 85-62 in Shreveport, La. on Nov. 22.
- Junior forward
Anna King added 10 points, seven rebounds and four assists off the bench.
- Sophomore forward
Heather Prowse scored nine points and pulled down 10 boards for her third double-digit rebounding game of the season.
- Sophomore center
Sara Dyslin scored six points to go with nine rebounds and three blocks.
- Senior forward
Katy Gallien added seven points, four assists and a pair of blocks.
Centenary Notes- Jasmine Morris led the Ladies with 19 points and went 11-of-11 from the free throw line.
- Briana Edwards recorded 15 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks.
Up NextHendrix will host Rust College on Monday at 5 p.m. in their final non-conference game of the season.
