SHERMAN, Texas - The Hendrix College men's basketball team lost at Austin College 62-53 on Saturday evening.
The Kangaroos (5-0) took advantage of cold shooting from the Warriors (1-6) in the first half. Hendrix shot 17.2 percent (5-of-29) and Austin led 27-19 at the break.
Trailing 39-33 with 11:23 to play, the Warriors went on an 8-2 run, capped by a three-pointer by junior guard
Travis Garrett, to tie the game 41-41 with 8:38 left. The 'Roos answered with a 7-1 run over the next three minutes to go up 48-42. Hendrix managed to cut the margin to 50-49 with 3:36 to play, but AC ended the game on a 12-4 run and went 7-of-8 at the free throw line in the final 30 seconds of the contest.
For the game, Hendrix shot 28.3 percent (17-of-60) from the field, 4-of-28 from outside and 15-of-35 at the line. Austin shot 28.6 percent (18-of-63) overall, 5-of-19 from three-point range and 21-of-32 at the line. The Warriors held a 54-50 rebound advantage.

Bryce Batchelor scored 10 points, grabbed eight rebounds and recorded two steals.
- Garrett finished with 10 points, a pair of assists, a block and a steal.

Bryce Parker recorded a career-high with seven points and five boards.

Drew Nikolovski recorded a career-best nine rebounds to go with four points, three assists, a block and a pair of steals.

Jordan Barrett had six points and a career-high eight boards.

Chandler Notley had four points, seven rebounds and three blocks.
- Freshman Luke Muprhey scored six points.
Austin Notes- Brian Baehl led the 'Ross with 13 points, 10 rebounds and three assists.
- Austin Freet had nine points, 11 rebounds and two blocks.
- Cedric Hudson recorded nine points and nine boards.
- Jeremy Swisher also scored nine points
