CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College men's basketball earned a crucial conference win, downing Southern Athletic Association rival Berry College 88-72 to complete the season sweep over their conference adversary.
Hank Aldous scored 23 points to lead the Warriors in scoring, while
Luke Vance added a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Gabe Gumm (11),
John Ogle (10) and
Aaron Steele (10) all finished in double-digits for the Orange and Black as well.Â
The Warriors jumped out to an early lead, feeding Vance early and often in the paint. The Hendrix forward scored 11 points and snagged rebounds in the first half alone as the Orange and Black took a 38-25 advantage into the locker room at halftime.
In the second frame, Berry cut the Hendrix lead down to six points with 3:14 left in the game, but could not draw any closer. The Warriors went 8-for-10 from the free throw line in the final three minutes of play to extend their lead and seal their victory.Â

- As a team the squad went 30-for-36 from the foul line, their highest team free throw percentage this season (83.3%).
Berry Notes- Nick Marder led the Vikings with 22 points while Owen Jacobs had 20 points.
- Marder and Jacobs combined for 42 points off the bench, combining to outscore all five combined Berry starters.
- Berry shot just 12.5% from behind the arc, going 2-for-16 in the game.
Up NextHendrix improves to 7-15, with a 2-9 record in the SAA. The squad will return to action on Sunday when they host Oglethorpe University in another SAA battle.Â
