Hendrix Downs Ozarks, Improves to 4-1

Junior Brenda Quintero won #6 singles in straight sets on Saturday

CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College women's tennis team moved to 4-1 on the young season with a 9-0 sweep of the University of the Ozarks on Saturday.

The Warriors, who beat the Lady Eagles in September as well, only lost six games on the day, four of which came in doubles. Senior Hannah Smashey and freshman Sarah Walker beat LeAnan White and Katelyn Woodard 8-0 in number three doubles.

Four of the six singles matches were won 6-0, 6-0 - sophomore Lauren Mahaney at #2, sophomore Julie Lefler at #3, freshman Sarah Walker at #4 and junior Brenda Quintero at #6.

Walker moved to 7-2 in singles play on the year and Quintero improved to 3-1.

Hendrix will have a three week break, resuming play against Westminster College (Mo.) at home on Mar. 7.
